Nipples!
Got my nipples re-pierced today! My fiance got me the piercings for Valentines because he is amazing. They had been pierced for about a year, but when I had knee surgery they had to be taken out. By the time I left surgery I was on so many pain killers I couldn't feel to get the jewelry back in. I kick myself though because had I gone to the piercer sooner I may not have had to get them re-pierced... ah well, it's what I get for waiting about 3-4 years.
In more art related things I've been studying Loomis and Bridgman. I've also taken up drawing fruit. Bought some fruit just to draw it. I'm afraid to eat it too soon (but oooh it looks d
So. Much. Cringe.
Actually I'm still pretty proud of some of my drawings in here.
Oh the writing though. I get it, it's been about 5 years since I've really been on this account. I've come back, and gone, and come back, got a new name (staple-salad (https://www.deviantart.com/staple-salad))... as the cliche romantic comedy line goes "I just can't quit you!" I have yet to find a better artist community. Yes, I did have some issue with the policy as a confused and troubled 18-19 year old. But does that really matter? Nah. I don't hold any grudges about it. At the end of the day art is a very broad spectrum, and I think as I grow up my regard to definitions changes with each new life state.
Policy in need of a rewrite... badly
As I'm sure many of you have noticed browsing DeviantART, this place is a cesspool of people who can't read.
Go to any section and you're likely to find thousands of pictures that violate the policy as it is writ. The general strategy in this case would be to report the violation, and move on, right?
Well, that's where things get tricky. Most of you would not be shocked to find that quite a few of the "blatant" violations have been reported before, sometimes multiple times, and returned invalid by the people in charge of the policy violations.
Some of you may remember this article I wrote several months back: http://news.deviantart.com/a
New report system puts FAQ into question.
With the new report system in place, deviants who find images that violate site policy not only have an easier time reporting the image, but can also see if it has been previously reported.
With the new system, deviants who previously thought the staff was merely overworked and unable to review all reports in a timely manner can now be sadly disappointed when they discover the truth: the FAQ darn well worthless.
FAQ #565: https://www.deviantart.com/help/565 - You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be? and FAQ #305: https://www.deviantart.com/help/305 - Is posting 'Adult' oriented artwork alright if I censor it first? define pornography for Deviant Art standards, calling out such things as vaginal spreading, sexual fluids and masturbation; and sealing loopholes by ignoring such things as cropping and censor stamps and treati
